Lady Temperance Flowerdew Yeardley
|
Born about 1580, Temperance Flowerdew sailed aboard the Faulcon during the third supply to Jamestown, surviving a tempest and landing in August of 1609 just in time to suffer the "starving time" of the ensuing winter.
The daughter of Anthony Flowerdew and Martha Stanley, she was one of about 20 women to venture to the new world.
She married George Yeardley who went on to become knighted then made Royal Governor of Virginia presiding over the first General Assembly. Be entertained and educated in a personal, humorous and audience interactive experience of life in early Jamestown.
